stems

Ethpe. 'be delivered' | überliefert werden; Pa. 'finish, fulfill' | vollenden, erfüllen; Aph. 'deliver, hand down' | überliefern

primer_note

⭐⭐ The richest entry in the ܫ section and two firsts in it. (1) A new Latin word, and a SCRIBAL one: 'explicit', the word that ends a manuscript — Nestle glosses the verb partly by the colophon formula it produces. (2) ܡܰܫܠܡܳܢܽܘܬܳܐ glossed 'Verrat, Überlieferung | treachery, tradition': the handing-over of Judas and the handing-down of tradition are the same noun, and the entry prints them in one breath. ⚑ ܫܠܳܡܳܐ 'peace' also completes the idiom ܫܐܶܠ ܫܠܳܡܳܐ 'greet' from p. 189, and duplicates ܫܰܝܢܳܐ 'Friede' from the same page.
