primer_note

⭐ The device of the previous line, extended into a CHAIN, and the strangest gloss in the shard: 'ܢܐܦܘܬ = äg. νεφώθ = gr. κροκόδειλος.' Three languages, two equals signs, no modern language and no part of speech — and the middle term is EGYPTIAN written in Greek letters. Nestle is not translating the word; he is tracing it.

uncertain yes

uncertain_note

Printed WITHOUT vowel points, and recorded that way — voc repeats the consonantal skeleton rather than inventing a pointing. Five glyphs, read ܢ + ܐ + ܦ + ܘ + ܬ against νεφώθ; the second glyph could be ܒ at this resolution.
