⚑ Line 33, ܟܠܡܢ ܗܟܝܠ ܕܢܫܪܐ. Two things here, one settled and one not.
· SETTLED, and it is a genuine observation about the setting: ܟܠܡܢ is printed SOLID, as one
word, not as ܟܠ ܡܢ. Read at 8x on a dedicated crop. The same page prints ܟܠ ܕܝܢ separately
at line 35, so the solid form is a choice, not a spacing artefact.
· NOT SETTLED: the order of ܗܟܝܠ and ܕܢܫܪܐ. Three reads of this line at 3x, 5x and 8x gave the
sequence ܟܠܡܢ ܗܟܝܠ ܕܢܫܪܐ twice and ܟܠܡܢ ܕܢܫܪܐ ܗܟܝܠ once. The majority reading is what is
recorded above. ⛔ It is recorded as UNCERTAIN and was NOT decided by asking what the verse
"should" say. A second reader with the plate should settle it before this line is shipped.
AGREEMENT: verse division 17-22; the consonantal sequence of vv. 17-18 and 20-22 as far as the control carries; seyame on ܢܒܝ̈ܐ, ܙܥܘܪ̈ܐ, ܠܒܢܝ̈ܢܫܐ, ܕܣܦܪ̈ܐ, ܘܦܪ̈ܝܫܐ, ܠܩܕܡ̈ܝܐ.
⭐ v. 22 ܐܝܩܐ IS PRESENT in Nestle (ܕܢܪܓܙ ܥܠ ܐܚܘܗܝ ܐܝܩܐ) and is present in the BFBS text
as well. Worth recording because this is the word (Gk. εἰκῇ) that the Greek tradition divides
over; both PD Syriac witnesses here keep it, so the agreement is informative rather than
trivial.
OPEN, carried forward: the ܗܟܝܠ / ܕܢܫܪܐ order at line 33 (see uncertain). The control was
not consulted to break that tie — deliberately, because using the diff target to settle a
plate reading and then reporting agreement would be circular.
