Chrest. I (c067-1) opens in FULLY VOCALIZED SERTO. Chrest. II opens, and stays, in UNVOCALIZED ESTRANGELA: no vowel signs anywhere on any of the seven pages. What IS marked is (a) seyame on plurals, (b) the qushshaya/rukkakha and participle points, (c) a horizontal bar over the elided letter of the enclitics (ܗܘܐ, ܗܝ, ܗܘ, ܐܢܐ, ܐܢܬ, ܐܢܬܘܢ, ܐܬܝܬ, ܐܬܐܡܪ, ܡܕܝܢܬܐ). So MAP.md's "the mix is pedagogical" holds at the level of the whole chrestomathy, and this piece is the unvocalized-Estrangela pole of it. Declared per page, as ruled.

⛔ THE TWO WITNESSES ARE IN DIFFERENT LAYERS. BFBS 1905-1920 prints Matthew in FULLY VOCALIZED Estrangela; Nestle prints it unvocalized. The diff is therefore over the CONSONANTAL SKELETON, word division, word order and seyame — it cannot and does not adjudicate pointing. Recording this is the point: an agreement here is weaker evidence than an agreement between two pointed editions would be.
AGREEMENT on this page: the verse division (1-10), the whole consonantal sequence of vv. 1-4 and 6-10 as far as the control's resolution carries, and the plural seyame on ܬܠܡܝ̈ܕܘܗܝ, ܠܡܣ̈ܟܢܐ, ܠܐܒܝ̈ܠܐ, ܠܡܟܝ̈ܟܐ, ܠܡܪ̈ܚܡܢܐ, ܪ̈ܚܡܐ, ܠܥܒܕ̈ܝ, ܕܒܢ̈ܘܗܝ.
DIVERGENCES / FLAGS, kept as Nestle prints them:
1. ⚑ v. 1, ܠܟܢܫܐ. Nestle prints it with NO seyame (singular). The BFBS plate at n15 appears
to carry seyame — ܠܟܢ̈ܫܐ, plural. Read as probable, not certain, at the control's
resolution; flagged rather than resolved, because a seyame present in one edition and
absent in the other is exactly the class of thing this diff exists to catch.
2. ⚑ v. 5, ܢܐܪܬܘܢ ܐܪܥܐ. Nestle prints ܐܪܥܐ WITHOUT the ܠ. The reading of the control at this
point was NOT resolved (the band that carries v. 5 sits on the crop seam of n15 and the
re-zoom landed on vv. 6-8). ⛔ Left open rather than filled in from knowledge of the verse.
3. v. 4 and v. 5 are printed with ܕܗܢܘܢ directly after the noun with no intervening pause
mark in v. 4 but with ܆ in v. 5 — a punctuation difference internal to Nestle, noted
because the pause marks are part of what a learner-facing render has to decide about.
